- Calculating the Range
- Assessment Style Questions
Why do students need to know about averages?
Averages are mainly used in statistics to give information about data and form conclusions on the data. For example, you could get an estimate of the average number of miles your car drives with a full tank. This could be helpful in working out how much fuel you need for a specific journey.
Mean, Median, Range and Mode are also common topics to appear in assessments and GCSE’S in year 11.
Will there be more sessions on Averages?
Averages appears in many areas of probability and statistics. We will definitely work on this again when we come across different graphs and charts.
