Why do students need to know about simple and compound interest?
Interest is an important concept in everyday life. Whether it is savings or a mortgage, interest is an important concept for students to understand not just from an exam, but for life!
Interest is closely linked with percentages and will build on our work from percentages last week.
Will there be more sessions on simple and compound interest?
Yes. The concepts discussed in compound interest will be important in other areas of percentages for example, depreciation. This is something we will look at further alongside multipliers in percentages.
