How do I join the session?

One day before the lesson you will receive a link and passcode to join the lesson. Click the link and type in the passcode.

You will then have the option to join on the website or via the zoom app.

I would recommend downloading the zoom app and joining via zoom.

What will be covered in the lesson?

A lesson on the volume of prisms for students in year 10 and 11. We will cover the following in the lesson:

  1. Volume of Prisms
  2. Volume of Cylinders
  3. Volume of Cones and Spheres

Why do students need to know about the volume of prisms?

Volume is effectively the area of a 3D shape. The volume is important when it comes to the capacity of different containers. Shape is often an area students struggle with and Volume is no different. There are many formula’s that we will come across which will also improve understanding of substitution in algebra.

Will there be more sessions on the volume of prisms?

Yes. Lessons on Wednesday’s are designated to topics relating to shape and angles so this is something we will look at further. Next week we will move on to surface area which is closely linked to volume.

Can I request a topic to cover?

Yes! Get in contact by filling in the form below and I will schedule a lesson for the topic of your choice!
